Clean & Purify Your Home with Tea Tree

Tea Tree essential oil (or also known as Melaleuca oil) is well-known for its purifying qualities. These qualities make it so useful for cleaning around the home, purifying the air and promoting healthy immune function. These reasons are why I love using this instead of toxic household cleaning products, and here are some of the ways you can use it:

Toilet Cleaner
Combine ten drops of Tea Tree essential oil with 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup vinegar for a natural toilet cleaner alternative that doesn’t have a toxic smell.

Laundry Freshener
Add a couple drops of Tea Tree essential oil to your laundry detergent to get rid of any musty smells caused by poor ventilation in your house.

Mattress Freshener
Dilute a few drops of Tea Tree essential oil in a bottle and spray on your mattress pad when you change the sheets to keep your mattress fresh.

Damp Places
Dilute eight to ten drops of Tea Tree essential oil with water in a spray bottle to clean in damp places around the house.

Mould Cleaner
Combine a few drops of Lemon, Clove and Tea Tree essential oil with vinegar and water in a spray bottle to treat areas for mould.

Surface Spray
Combine ten drops of Tea Tree, ten drops of Lemon and ten drops of OnGuard essential oil, with water and a squirt of castile soap to create a natural surface spray alternative.
