Gluten Free Coconut Flour Chocolate Cake

This cake was created one Sunday afternoon when I craving chocolate… I had a tonne of coconut flour at home and so I experimented with a few other ingredients that I had in the cupboard. This is what I came up with and it was just the perfect treat.. Enjoy! P.S As an added bonus this cake is gluten free and dairy free too 🙂


What you need:


1/3 cup cacao powder or carob powder if you would prefer the cake to be caffeine free

½ cup coconut flour

2.5 teaspoons of gluten free baking powder

½ teaspoon of cinnamon

6 eggs

½ cup honey

½ cup of melted coconut oil

1/3 cup coconut milk

1 teaspoon of vanilla

Pinch of salt


What you need to do


  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius and prepare cake tin with baking paper
  2. Combine all ingredients using a cake mixer or food processor (I used my thermomix)
  3. Pour cake mix into cake tin and bake for 55-60minutes – test cake with a skewer and if it comes out clean the cake is ready.
  4. Top with your favourite icing. I used a combination of macadamia butter, cacao, honey and coconut oil.
  5. Enjoy xx
