Episode Fifty Eight: Embodying your true self
During this episode, I chat to Sally about her personal journey that brought her back to herself. Five years ago Sally found she had to start everything again after realising she was overgiving to everyone around her, which she loved but wasn’t giving anything to herself. This became a pivotal moment for her to look after herself and put herself first. Sally talks about without her energy she can’t help others, she started to refocus her energy on herself to then be able to support others.
Sally talks about mastering the art of receiving and how much of a positive impact this can have on your life. Looking at when somebody offers you something instead of saying ‘oh no, I’ve got this’, practice saying ‘thank you’ and accept the helping hand.
Sally shares her favourite tips for people who are always pushing and taking action to trust and receive. Sally shares that things happen in the timing that they are meant to and how we need to start meeting the universe halfway. By actively putting the effort in but not forcing it, letting it flow and taking time to reevaluate. Trusting that things are going to happen that are meant to and that it’s happening for you not against you.
Throughout this episode, we discuss how to set healthy boundaries that will support you to be and live as your true self. We talk about being experimental when things happen that feel uneasy to you and setting boundaries around that particular situation. We talk about stepping into your power and making decisions for yourself. Like if it’s a yes or no, look within to determine the right answer, if it feels good or not good and trusting your internal reactions.
Sally shares tips to reignite belief in yourself if you are doubting yourself. By being self-compassionate, when you can embrace yourself it takes the pressure off getting it right. There is no wrong decision and knowing you are doing the best you can with what you have in this moment. Things change moment to moment so it’s ok if the decision you made last week isn’t the same this week. Start to trust yourself and that whatever happens you can handle it and do what is best for you.
