Episode Forty Six: Upgrading your mindset to make positive change
During this episode, I chat to Lisa about her journey with helping women to upgrade their mindset, get unstuck and make positive change in their life. She became curious about how our brains are wired to keep us repeating patterns over and over again. Lisa started experimenting with her clients and created some resources that helped people spot what they were telling themselves and how to reprogram those thought patterns. It had crazy results and she ended up creating a program called Ready to Change which incorporated the framework to change thought patterns and make change.
Lisa shares practical advice around making change and how we can move past overwhelm to make positive changes in our life. If you don’t stop to look at where you have a choice, then you will always be a victim of your own life. How we often wonder why we feel sick and resentful and it’s because we don’t put our-self first.
Throughout this episode we discuss how life is simply too short, we need to strip it all back and ask ourselves these big questions. We have a choice on how we feel, what we do and how we show up. We talk about looking at the standards we have created for our life and asking our-self how much stress are we going to put on our-self to meet these standards. We discuss how no one can do things perfectly all the time and how to lower those standards.
Lisa shares powerful exercises for prioritising everything in your life and determining what you actually need to focus on and what you can let go of. Lisa talks about how we are all juggling balls but some of them are glass and if they are dropped they shutter, but you get to decide what your glass balls are. How the rest of them are rubber, they are going to bounce and you can pick them up at another time. It’s your life and you get to prioritise what’s important and what’s not.
